In
part one we started internally with your attitude,
emotions, and beliefs about yourself and what
you can accomplish in college. Without the three
base builders, you have nothing to stand on.
Now you do. Only you know if you've successfully
adopted a strong why, concrete goals, and higher
expectations.
Assuming
you did internalize the three previous concepts,
we can now kick this academic thing into overdrive.
In the next few chapters, I will show you how
you can get professors to become your personal
coach and most loyal fans. I call this section
"Teacher Taming Techniques." I know we're called
professors, but I couldn't come up with an
alliteration for the letter "P." Just work
with me on this.
This
section will show you how to position yourself
for success and literally predict your grade in
any course. Before we discuss them, understand
that some techniques may be a little controversial
and appear somewhat manipulative; but they are
all legal and fall within the rules and guidelines
of academia. However, I will warn you, these
tricks will not work for the faint at heart; you
must be willing to step out of your comfort zone.
Whereas the first part of this book takes commitment,
the remainder of this book requires courage and
common sense.
So
if you're ready, let's begin.
