Part I: Base Building Basics

Now I'm no architect or construction worker, but everyone knows that a house is only as strong as the foundation it is built upon.  We know that a house built on sand will surely fall, so to avoid that fate, we will seek to build our "Tricks of the Grade" home on cement. Therefore, I call this section the "Base Building Basics" because they're the foundation of "Tricks of the Grade."

Without these three basics, the rest of strategies would be rendered useless.  Matter of fact, I will venture to say that if you internalize and solidify these three basics in your thinking, you probably won't need the others.

The reason I've never had a student unsatisfied with these tricks is because once they've whipped their attitude into shape, they found that they didn't need ALL of the other tricks to succeed.

Just call this the inside-out approach to success in college.  That's what makes this system so different.  These strategies focus on the person, not your performance.
