leaders?
-
Would
you like to motivate and inspire your student leaders so they can
lead others?
- Would
you like to see your students lead, learn, and live more
responsibly on and off campus?
Well,
student leaders are not born!
Contrary to
popular opinion, leaders are not born, they’re
trained and developed. Even the country’s top student
leaders weren’t always great leaders. Instead, these students
made the journey from college student to “student leader” by
making the most of their talents, learning and applying new
skills, and developing their leadership abilities.
Through this
training process, they learned new ways to influence, motivate,
and build relationships. They conquered problems and setbacks that
would have stifled most.And
through experience and leadership development, they learned how to
create and inspire powerful teams.
Empower your

5:Becoming the
Complete Team PlayerFocus: Your Team
Building Skills - Facilitator: Dan Oltersdorf
When it comes
to leadership, there’s no such thing as a self-made success. The
moment you think you can do it alone is the moment you’ll be
doing it alone. There’s no “I” in the word “TEAM,” and
the speed of the leader will determine the rate of the pack. You
need others and they need you. In this session, you will learn how
to:
- Put the team’s
needs before your own.
- Share the spotlight
with others so all of you will shine.
- Become your team’s
biggest cheerleader as well as their favorite coach.

Communication Skills
- Facilitators:
Professor Joe Martin and/or Dan Oltersdorf
Eighty-seven
(87%) percent of all success in any organization is directly
related to people skills. Even if you’re the hardest working and
most gifted person on your team, no one will follow you unless
they first trust and like you. Even if you’re not a “people
person,” you can still be an effective leader. In this session,
you will learn how to:
- Get others to give
you what you need to succeed.
- Build credibility
and mutual respect with your team.
