Pennies for Puppies

This program is designed to get students involved with the community & with the Humane Society. Since most college students are away from their lovable pets, this program helps residents get involved in making a difference for dogs, cats & other pets rescued by the Humane Society.

What this program is about is collecting pennies. Set up a jar in an office, floor or building to collect pennies. The residents then take the pennies to the bank, cash them in & then make a trip to buy dog treats, cat treats, toys etc. After they are bought, then take a trip to the Humane Society to give the treats to the pets. Call your local Humane Society to clear the trip first though!  Students are immediately attracted to this program because of the pet aspect and they also get to make a difference. It's certainly an eye opening experience for the residents that participate.
