We had a hair-dying party on my floor last weekend.
It's a lot of fun -- post sign-up sheets about a week before the
shindig, where people write their name and the color they want.
Then you can go to purchase the correct amount of each color of dye
beforehand. This event takes quite awhile and requires a large
laundry sink (note that you will probably stain the sink). The
night of the event, I recommend starting around 8pm. We only
dyed 7 heads of hair and it took us 4 and a half hours. This is
a great spectator activity, plus it has residual floor-bonding effects
("Did you see those weird RAs from second Myers? They've
got pink hair!").
Letting a floormate dye your hair builds trust with them
(really!) and
it's also a chance for freshmen to try looking "new and
different" during
their first semester at college.
