True Beauty

Description: I used this board for Eating Disorder Awareness Week. On one side of the board, I put pictures from magazines that negatively portrayed women (i.e. extremely thin, sexually suggestive, inferior to men). I labeled this side "Beauty in the Media". On the other side, I hung a mirror and wrote positive personality characteristics (fun, intelligent, good listener, athletic). I labeled this side "True Beauty". The girls seemed to like it, and it really makes you aware of how women are characterized by the media.

Instructions/Things Needed:
Markers
Mirror (I got one for $4 at Wal-Mart)
Pictures from magazines

Other Considerations: Be sure the pictures are well attached, because people may try to take them down (especially on a co-ed hall).
