Chase's Calendar of Events 2002; The Day-By-Day Directory to Special Days, Weeks and Months
A great resource I have found is called "Chase's Calendar of Annual Events." This is a book which has listings (by days) of national days and month themes (eg breast cancer awareness month, or International Residence Hall Student Staff Recognition Day). It also has more obscure information (national fig week, write your own epitaph day, etc.)  It is really fun and a great bulletin board idea resource.
